TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Medico Telehealth Services
1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing Medico for your telehealth services. These terms and conditions outline the scope of services, privacy practices, and your rights and responsibilities when using our services. By engaging with Medico’s telehealth services, you agree to be bound by these terms, which are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If you do not agree, you should not proceed with using these services.
2. Consent for Telehealth Services
By participating in a telehealth consultation with Medico, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following:
Telehealth services enable healthcare providers to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients remotely via electronic communications.
While telehealth can be an effective method of medical consultation, it has inherent limitations, including the inability to perform physical examinations, obtain vital signs directly, or conduct in-person diagnostic tests.
Telehealth services may be suitable for managing minor or non-urgent health concerns but may not be appropriate for all medical conditions.
If your healthcare provider determines that an in-person consultation is required for proper assessment or treatment, you will be advised to seek appropriate in-person care.
3. Emergency Services Disclaimer
Medico’s telehealth services are not designed for medical emergencies or life-threatening situations.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, you must call 000 or go to the nearest hospital for immediate assistance.
The inappropriate use of telehealth services for emergencies may delay necessary treatment and put your health at risk.
If your healthcare provider determines that you are in a situation requiring urgent intervention, they may recommend emergency services or advise you to contact your nearest healthcare facility.
4. Privacy, Data Collection, and Confidentiality
By using Medico’s telehealth services, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your personal and medical information in accordance with relevant Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW). This includes:
The collection of your medical history, symptoms, consultation notes, and any other relevant personal health data shared during telehealth sessions.
The secure storage and handling of this information to ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable privacy regulations.
The possibility that telehealth sessions may be recorded for documentation and medical record-keeping purposes.
Acknowledgement that while Medico employs industry-standard security measures, no internet-based communication system is completely secure, and there are inherent risks associated with electronic data transmission.
Confidentiality will only be breached under exceptional circumstances, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others or if Medico is required to respond to a legal subpoena or court order.
5. Consent to Treatment
By proceeding with telehealth services, you:
Provide informed consent to receive medical consultations and treatments via telehealth.
Acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to ask questions and that your concerns about telehealth services have been adequately addressed.
Understand that participation in telehealth services is voluntary, and you may withdraw your consent at any time without impacting your right to seek future healthcare services from Medico or other providers.
6. Payment and Refund Policy
Full payment is required before your scheduled consultation to secure your appointment.
Medico operates under a no-refund policy, meaning that payments are non-refundable except under specific circumstances, which must be discussed and agreed upon with your healthcare provider.
If you experience technical difficulties preventing a successful consultation, Medico will assess the issue on a case-by-case basis and may offer a rescheduled appointment at no additional cost.
7. Health Record Management
Your healthcare provider will maintain a record of your telehealth consultations, which will be securely stored within Medico’s practice management system.
In some cases, Medico may collect and store additional health information from third parties, such as your general practitioner, with your consent.
Health records are managed in compliance with all relevant legal obligations and retention requirements.
You have the right to request access to your health records. If you wish to do so, please contact Medico or discuss your request with your healthcare provider.

Telehealth services are provided on an "as is" basis. While Medico strives to offer a high standard of care, it does not guarantee uninterrupted service or the absolute security of electronic communications.
